Congestion Tax in the News - Update

Bad news for NYC drivers, good news for Mayor Mike and his supporters.

Mar. 21, 2008, WNYC New York Public Radio:
"Paterson Backs Congestion Pricing"
Complete Article: Gov. David Paterson has come our in support of congestion pricing. Gov. Spitzer had been in favor, but Paterson had reserved judgment. Paterson’s support is crucial for passage of the legislation which would charge drivers in Midtown in peak hours. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says a bill must pass both the Legislature and the City Council by March 31 for the city to receive hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funds for mass transit.

PTF: "If you think you'll be able to find a parking space outside of the congestion zone, think again. Because a recent DOT survey says there ain't no parking spaces now. The neighborhoods ringing the proposed congestion zone in Manhattan have few parking spaces open now for drivers looking to avoid Mayor Mike's congestion tax."
