Parking Tix Scam Alert!

This Mon. a co-worker at my day job told me about a parking tix scam I've never heard of before. Of course, parking tickets per se is a scam. But he was talking about a scam perpetrated by a driver against other drivers.

My co-worker was telling me that he knows someone who is saving a lot of money and hassles with his very simple and clever parking tix scam. Whenever a parking Nazi slaps a parking tix on his auto, he just takes it and slaps it on someone else's car.

Apparently, the someone else will either pay it or fight to have it dismissed. This wiseguy, of course, checks online to see if his ticket was paid or dismissed in a timely fashion.

Seems like there's a lot of ignorant drivers out there. Don't people check to make sure the plate # on the summons matches their vehicle's plate #?

So, pay attention. Check the summons "issued" to your car for accuracy. If the plate # on the summons isn't your vehicle's plate #, then you don't have to pay it or have to fight it.

Just throw it away.

But, as a precaution, do check online either once a month or every 2 weeks for any parking tickets issued to your plate #. I learned to make weekly check-ups online the hard way.
